Pima Restoration Updates

Thu May 20, 2010 12:28 pm

A lot of people have expressed an interest so I'm pleased to announce that we have finally squished the bugs that were preventing updates to the restoration projects on Pima's web site. The plan from here on out is to do an update every Monday. We'll upload photos of significant changes to each project that happened in the previous week. I've done updates for the Phantom, Mustang, Huey, and Sabre projects at this point. Enjoy. :D

James,

Maybe I'm blind, but I don't see the Sabre showing up on that page at all.

Thanks for the update James.

Are the restoration projects accessible to museum visitors? I will be making a visit later this month and look forward to seeing the progress of the various restorations.

Thanks,
Jim

I am sorry that the updates haven't been as frequent as I had hoped. We've been very busy getting ready for the new building to open. The restoration projects are progressing even without me having time to take photos.

The Huey is finished and ison display in the new building. There is an updated photo in the restoration updates section for it, I just forgot to change the date for the update.

I don't know what happened to the page for the Sabre Mk. V, it just disappeared for some reason.

The T-33 hasn't changed much since the last photo on the website.

We are just about to paint the MiG-15UTI and ready it to hang in the new building.

We've also finished the restoration of an A-10 cockpit section that was used in the last Terminator movie.

The P-39 is still in progress. We are making parts and trying to figure out exactly what is still missing.
There are a few photos of the exhibits in the new building on my personal Flickr page at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/planecurator/

That is about it right now.

Hey James, the F-4E looks a lot better out of the bag it was in when I saw it!

When I was there last you mentioned wanting to restore the F-94. Any update to that?
