Where did that photo come from? Don't let me find out you were there and didn't come say hello! What you can't see, to the right of the U-11 are other REAL airplanes....C-45, B-25, etc. Well, to the immediate right was one of those carbon-fiberglass-graphite things with all the fancy instruments and stuff.

It was a great fly-in, but a lot of people kept asking when we were going to start flying! I told them to petition the city council and tell them they want the air show back!

I'm looking forward to next year, and I hope the weather is better. Most of us had to bug out by 1:45pm due to a line of thunderbumpers that was going to arrive at 2:15pm. The wind was 180 when I landed. When I went to leave, it was something like 300 at 21, gusting to 29. The PT-19 was in front of me, took the runway and had to do an immediate crab into the wind, then just sat there, slowly going up like an elevator! By the time they finally were able to get out of the way, the tower asked if I would like to taxi over to 36, as the wind was now 360 at 21, gusting 29. I asked what they thought I was flying, an O-2? Runway 29 would be just fine for the mighty U-11! Good thing I am up on crosswind take offs and landings!
