I'll try to get a few more shots on Sunday but I wanted to post a few images of the Spartan this evening. It is making progress but because it went for a swim in the Great Flood of 1993, it was taken completely apart and is being restored from the ground up. Enjoy. :)

It's always nice to see new pictures of Spartan Executives, even ones not quite ready to fly. None made it to Sun-N-Fun or Oshkosh this year, so there have been few recent pictures.

Mr. Stix, Jr.-

You stud! Thank you! I take back all of those ugly things I said about you! :)

The photos are great. Has he made much progress in the last year or two? It sure seems like it has just stalled a little bit. Neat to see that another Exec is on the way back to flyable...

And Mr. Savage- I seem to recognize that avatar!

Yes, you should recognize the avatar. I should have an updated one to use in the very near future. I just need to remember to take the camera to the airport on a future visit. I'll try to get a similar shot in black and white, but with the current paint design.

Regarding N-4444, that is an interesting variation on the more traditional "lightning bolt" paint design seen on many of today's Spartans. Because of the way the front portion of the stripe ends, I wonder what is intended for the cowling and nose bowl. Perhaps Mr. Stix Jr. has some pictures of those pieces of the airplane.

Looking forward to the new avatar, Jim!

And I had the same thought about the lightning bolt- I am looking forward to seeing that complete picture as well. I need to get going on putting together my little spread about the original paint schemes on each of the Execs. I think that at this point, we've got a pretty good chunk of them identified!

Al-

Couldn't resist resurrecting an older thread... has any progress been made? Is this one getting any closer to flight? Found an old report online from when this one had an "incident" in the 1940's. Cool writeup.
