Shock mount search

Sun Aug 07, 2005 4:29 pm

Hi All,

I'm looking for instrument panel shock mounts. The original drawing calls for part # AN8008-10D

I'll gratefully acknowledge any and all leads for NOS...suitable modern replacements also a definite option.

TIA

Dan

Dan would you double check the part # . I tried to run it for you and it came up with NO hits and it couldn't be found in the Fed database. Usually that means something is funny with number.

Thanks Rick,

Double-checked...triple-checked: AN8008-10D Vibration Insulator. This comes off a drawing from Vought-Sikorsky, August, 1943.

It's your typical square-shaped shock mount; rivet holes are all 1.375 in. apart; takes rivet size AN456 AD5-9 to mount

It sounds like I'd better start hunting for a substitute...

Dan, do have you looked in the IPB? Sometimes there are alt #s listed. I might be able to check some sources and see if the number was changed.

Might also hit the Lord website as they have their entire catalog online.

Thanks much, Gents,

I've been PM'ed a few additional leads already.

WIX to the rescue again.

Dan,
They changed how the part # is done. I have several of these mounts.
The "D" is moved try AN8008D10. LORD p/n 150PL-12. its a pretty common item.

Ah, how I like a happy ending...

The snafus kind of piled up last week--always nice when something goes easy for a change.

Thanks much for responding,

Dan
