2 Dutch 104s arrived at Everett yesterday

Tue Sep 21, 2010 2:35 am

Two former RNLAF Starfighters were flown in from Holland to Everett yesterday. A 104G and a TF-104G. Aircraft are in prime condition, being stored indoors since their retirement in the early 1980ties, and are potential future flyers. The jests are part of a deal, so something must returne to Holland. No clue what this/these will be.

From what I have heard, they are going to be restored/rebuild by Legend Flyers for a certain actor... Rumor is there are up to three more on the way.

The F-104 is a fast airplane, I'll bet he can get it all the way to Worf 2

My guess is that these aircraft are part of the set that the guys in Florida are putting together. They were supposed to be building their fleet up to a size of nine. They have four flyers already, so four plus five makes nine. Just my guess of course, but it is in keeping with that story.

Cheers,
Richard

PS. Any photos/serials?

The Dutch museum still has severall other 'like new' 104s. To be honest, I am only interested in what we are getting in return. A Harpoon and a TBM are still missing/on the wish list, to name a few.

I think 'flown in' in something else...

The Dutch museum is also busy with a T-37 and F-4 Phantom, acquired from the States. Aren't they the aircraft they will be getting in return? But then again, the MLM reported that there would be some real gems coming over to the museum in return for those Starfighters...

AT-11, P-40N and Lodestar are some other types high on the wishlist too!

No, those 2 have nothing to do with it.
