I thought the Op was a troll. A little late to be complaining, since the R&D is spent and it's in service.

Interesting web site, though, thanks.

From what I understand the troops using it love its speed and versatility. Some wish it had some weapons but other than that it seems to be making it's mark on the battle field.

I am always amazed at the naysayers that pop up when a new technology is coming on line. It never seems to be worth the bucks to them...I'll bet cavemen argued that the wheel took too long to carve and wasn't worth the time and effort.

i'm only conveying an esprit de corp opinion as my son has been attached to the usmc hmh 366 hammerhead helo squadron flying 3 engined ch -53 sea or super stallions at mas cherry point nc. i've asked him about the osprey & he see's them often, but while picking the brains of all of his sarges it's not held in high regard. undergunned, cramped & a mechanical headache. i'll give a little room in the maintenance dept as it's still new technology that has been researched well over 50 years, so naturally bugs abound with the new fast egg beating / weed wacking osprey. the program has had it's bashers & cheerleaders. your senate & congress have been divided as well. i feel it will fit into it's mission very soon. no offense to my son..... i guess we'll have to dual over the pool table about it at channukah / xmas!! 8) i may lose the debate.... but not at pool!! your mine turd burglar!!

Next month I am going to do a veteran tales interview on a guy that was a pilot for Marine One. Later hew became one of the first test pilots on the V-22. I will let you all know when I get his video done, it might be a month or two. Trying to get some others done with editing.
