There was supposed to be a book on the 2007 Gathering of Mustangs. Does anyone know what happened to it? Was it canceled?

check out the event website store...they have the programs and a book on the legends who were there...under $10 for both (minus shipping) and i believe there is a DVD...not sure if this is what you are looking for but i grabbed a set of program and legend book to keep in the lounge at the airport i work at and they are popular with all who stop in...

What Jarrod is referring too is the book of the event, not the event programme. All of the P-51s except one (whose owner declined) were photographed against a backdrop in a specially-staged area in one of the hangars at Columbus, and we were told this was for the book of the event.

Sadly, this book has never materialized, and we are left with the rather disappointing DVD as a record of this grat event. :(

There was a book done. I bought it from the website about 6 months after the event. It was not the program that I also have. It had those pictures of the planes you spoke of, and had individual stories of the veterans. I'm not sure if there is a different book that you are talking about or not. I'll try to dig it out.

I believe it was the owner of the ex-Gary McCann one, totally unpainted except for the remnants of the old black scheme on the carb air intake lip.

You may have a book, but it is not the one Jarrod is talking about, this book never has seen the light of day, nor have any of the pictures.

Those pictures are from guys like myself standing around. The pics that were for the book never published where taken from up high, looking down over the top of the plane.
