Whose going to the P-38 Gathering in Sacramento next week?
Maybe we could set up a group WIX photo with the P-38's?

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

I 'tentatively' plan to be there too. I attended the Watsonville Airshow yesterday (Friday, Sept 03) and 'heard' that Mather may be running out of tickets so it is recommended that you get tickets "ON-LINE' to assure entry. Just checked their website and noted that the entry time is now 9:00 am vs. previously announced 8:00 am. Get to an airshow too early? ... Never happen!!

My unit, the California Center for Military History, State Military Reserve and the California Military Museum will be set up in Exhibitor space E8.

We will have a replica P-38 instrument panel, an M3 .50 aircraft gun and other artifacts on display.

Come by and see us!

Can anyone suggest a place to meet and shake hands? Maybe we can take a photo? What would be a good time?

The WIX Canadian National Capital Region President would like to meet with members from the chapters on the western seaboard.

I think Saturday as soon as the show over by the P-38's might be a good choice.
I'm pretty busy until then and we have to get ready to tow one over to the party hangar.
I'm leaving tomorrow (Wed.) so I won't be on line.

Somebody suggested over on the AAFO board that there may be an issue with sponsorship regarding the gathering of P-38's. Is there any truth to this or is it just a nasty rumour? I'm preparing to drive 14 hours one way to get to the show and I sure as heck am not going to make the trip to see the rest of the performers in the airshow line up. Anybody connected with the show that can confirm or deny?
