I remember that night as well. We were in south Arlington and the same storm that produced the tornado had a LOT of rotation and a lot of lightning in it as it passed over my house...scared the crap outta me...

I'm going to try to be there. Are we going to try to have a WIXer gathering? :?:

I may stick around at the end of the day and do a B-24 flight. 8)

Looks like it will be a nice day.

If my daughter cleans her room, we can go.

I was really looking forward to seeing the Mi-24 fly.

I'll see if I can remember! (with old age, the first thing to go is your memory, and I can't remember the other things)

I'll be wearing my VFM-Chuckie tee shirt and some camo cargo shorts, and probably a camo boonie hat, and I'll be carrying a dark green LowePro camera bag. If you see me, stop me!

I'll be around the B-24A (a/c tours) or in the hangar selling rides and PX gear! I should be arriving around 0800hrs (driving in from Burleson), just about the same time as "Ol' 927" is landing! It'll be good to see you guys (& girls) again!
Alan

I posted a few pics from last year over in the hangar page........

The Rose didn't make it but Ole' 927 did. It was good to see Brad, Zane, Karen, Dean, Ronnie and Doug. Cavanaugh brought over there FM-2 and A-26. It was a great day with a good crowd. There could have been a little more flying though....

A P-40, an A-26, AN-2, a bunch of T-6's, CH-47, UH-60, Mi-2, Mi-24, O-2. L-29/39 and more old civilian planes than I can recall (but my daughter took their pictures along with every car, vehicle and canine that was there. And there wasn't very much flying? Did I mention the Mi-24. Even without filled weapons stations it was an intimidating sight, and the DFW wing of the CAF would let you sit in the cockpit of theirs. Three Hinds at the same airport, where else in the US can you see that? Maybe next year the MiG-21 and MiG-23 will be flying.

Sorry Yellow Rose wasn't there, but happy y'all are okay. Saw Karen's plane, but didn't see Karen. And I think I talked to Dean while we were waiting for the CH-47 and UH-60 to leave. Had a great time and kept a ten year old occupied for six hours (I think half the pictures she took was of "Bumble Bee"). It will take days to label all of the pictures.

It was a great day at Lancaster. Good to meet all of the WIXer's! (We never could get it together enough to get a photo... oh well)

Lot's of flying for a non-airshow!

Fun stuff!

Good time again this year! Met up with a BUNCH of WIXers (in no particular order): Lynn Allen, Ztex, Brad, LadyO2Pilot, JBrawner, Carol, Cozmo, Alan Brooks, FG1D Pilot, and maybe some others that I can't remember.

Here are some photos:

And WIXer Lynn Allen hoping for "that shot". . .

WIXer Cozmo's daughter took this shot. That's Ol' Dino on the left and fellow VFM member "Sal" Salvino on the right:

Dean, you should have stopped with Doug on take off roll, you were doing good until that lost looking Challenger driver got in the way...... I took many shots at Breckenridge like that standing at the intersection signs. Maybe Doug will chime in and tell how the trip back to Addison went. Good to see you all hope to again soon....

I think the CWAM folks were teasing the guys in green with the passes while they were preparing to leave. But it was really cool to see them together. Maybe next year an Apache can come by and they can fly together. Just seeing that Hind flying over grain elevators and Texas farmland brought back paranoid nightmares from the time "Red Dawn" came out.

And one aircraft that I couldn't identify:
