Saw a movie from the 80's the other day that had scenes from AMARC. Kind of a cool old 80's movie, not aviation related. But in a scene a teenager takes his girlfriend out there to see some of the planes. In the scenes you see many B-52's, but uclose we see an F9F Panther, F6F Hellcat, and TBM Aenger in the background. Just wondering if anyone knows anything on these airframes. Are they PIMA's?

Some great quotes from the scene:

While running his hands over the Hellcat, "After sitting at the bottom of the ocean this is the only part that rusted. Our Grandparents sure knew how to make things right."

While they check out the Panther, "This is the real history, not that stuff we study on pages in a book."

It was shot at Pima. That F6F is now fully restored.

As I recall, the firewall foreward portion of the Hellcat actually fell off(!) not long after the actors stood directly under the engine for that scene.

There was another cheesy movie that I used to watch back in the 80's that had a lot of scenes shot at the boneyard at D.M., but for the life of me I can't remember the name of it. I remember it was a sci-fi fantasy movie and it had some scenes with some kind of power generator thingy that had electric currents or lightning bolts shoot out of it. I think it was more of a serious movie, not funny at all, but I recall these kids broke into the boneyard and were crawling around a bunch of the airplanes. Can anyone refresh my college frat-fried brain as to the name of it?

Yes, that's it!!!! Thanks for the title. I used to watch that movie with my friends and they were into the sci-fi, but I used to tell them all of the airplanes they were seeing in the boneyard. It's a pretty ridiculous movie, but I enjoyed it at the time, primarily because of the airplane scenes.

Anybody have a clue what the yellow stickers are? appears that all the instruments are numbered.

The NMUSAF has stickers on their instruments to indicate radioactivity from the radium paint used on the dials. Red stickers for "hot" and green for "cold." One of their docents told me it was required by the EPA or OSHA or some other form of gov't alphabet soup. I'm assuming the NMNA has a similar requirement.
