47-371 is registered as sale reported. The address given is the Seattle Museum of Flight. I talked with the Assistant Curator, he has no knowledge of ever having an L-13 in the collection. He's going to look into it.

The webpage also shows Dale B Howe as an owner of an L-13 with remarkably close serial and N numbers. If written by hand, 47-371 and 47-377 could look alot alike, maybe a typo was made along the way.

Wayne IIRC that OD round motor L-13 was sold then torn up by its new owner. Second hand info, but that's what I heard. I believe there are at least two more flying, but I'm not too sure.

Trumbull Airport is in Groton, CT and is still called Trumbull airport (after the former Governor). That is the old Navy hangar behind the Hellcat that was torn down a few years ago.

The Aeronca 12AC (N83772) in the pics is one very rare bird. I think there were only a couple of them produced.

My grandfather learned to fly here in the late 1940's, very possibly in one of those Champs. I shared the link with him and I'm waiting on his reply. He bought his 1965 Cherokee 180C their as well. As you can see, it's a very tight airport. He's spoken affectionettely about that little (literally) airport.

When he was in his teens, there was a group of guys that were trying to get the trees cut down at the end of the runway. The person who owns the property said "no", so in the middle of the night, a group of them went in to cut down the trees. Well, they were caught.

The end of the runway by the road has a waist-high fence on it, and some joker put a DOT "STOP" sign on it as a joke. When my grandfather flew that Cherokee out of their that he had bought from Dorr Aviation, he and his longtime friend, fueled up half way, barely cleared that fence on that hot July day when they flew it home to the Manchester Airport (MHT). I just wanted to share, I'm awaiting my grandfather's reply as I type.

The A-26 near the very end is quite a sharp looking aircraft. Registration seems to be NL85779, but I may be wrong...I have no record of a registration even close to that. Does anyone have any info on that one?
