A question about how to remove paint from an F-84

What would be the best method to strip this airframe down to bare metal? It has been outside for many a year and there is some "cancer" in the skin.

Commercial size soda blaster. Aluminum blasted this way ends up looking *new*. Once ya get that done, take a fresh look at the cancer.

I would suggest dry ice blasting as a possibility.
Dry ice does not mar any finish and there is no media to clean up.

Thanks guys, both are possibilities but the decision won't be mine. Not sure of the budget either. Rich, the airplane is at the War ERagles Air Museum in Santa Teresa NM.

Thanks Derek! It is indeed the airplane at WEAM. My "contributions" have mainly been photographic and BS sessions, but this project really interests me. The airport is only about 25 miles from my house, so not bad at all.

Not sure about *America*, but here in California the State just love it when ya hose the baking soda down the drains as it neutalizes a lot of the other crap that people pour down there

Forgot to ask – this isn’t a candidate for a flying restoration is it? I suppose not if it’s been outside for awhile but I’d sure love to see an F-84F take to the skies again.
