Fighters tonight, starting with the Seafire - too bad she didn't fly all week

And the bunch that keeps them safely apart:

Here's some general airshow stuff:

This looked serious until they just got out, lifted the wing, pulled the gear back down, and taxied back in;

Didn't even see a scratch on the hull

That's probably about all for this year - got the bombers and lots of DC-3/C-47's if anyone's interested. Otherwise just waiting for Reno! Cheers everyone.

I went to "Sloshkosh" early but my ride wanted to come home three days early so I missed most everything. It was a realy great year for fans of the T-33. I think there were 5 flyers and they were flying everyday. Two ship formations, and they looked really great. Thank you T-bird pilots!
Also great to see two A-4's in the air at the same time.

All those great planes at Oshkosh, Marine 1 and you could only see diesels?
And that from a Stearman pilot?

Seriously, I have always like the looks of T-33s, it's proportions have the classic shape of a real airplane. And the A4 has it's appeal also.
Paul Teppler was flying a friend at Fon du Lac and hard as I tried I could not discourage the friend out of his seat, even though I offered him my snappy new rent a car. Paul was nice enough to offer me a ride at Osh , but I never made the connection. I was trying to save some money and knew it would be quite a bit for the fuel cost.

Wonder how a T-33 would look with a Merlin up front?

That C-47 would have been the "Jungle Skippers"

As much as it may LOOK like Rhonda was ripping Bob a new one, there were a number of Merlins and R-2800's running just 100 yards in either direction when I took the photo. One needs to make oneself heard in conditions like that :)

And an excellent job of flying it was! Thanks for your service. Thanks also for the response - it's feedback like that that keeps us part timers snapping and posting. Here's a few more for Mom:

Some more general airshow stuff:

The "Cat in the Hat" before his incident, introducing Jim Hagedorn and Bud Anderson:

And some from the L&O flights:

Ruff Stuff was unable to shoot down Warren Pietsch's Zero one day because of an uncooperative right main:

Fortunately the other two came down and locked OK. One of Ron Fagen's other rides (P-40)got him the day before:

BTW, John Mohr got 'shot down' by the Zero in his Stearman each day and did a pretty incredible 3-turn spin from very low altitude

Sorry if I have already posted any of these (connection at home is too slow to go back and check):

Some bombers:

Aluminum really reflects the "Red Dot" on the runway!

This one with the "Little Friends" above might have turned out OK with a clearer sky :(

This B-25 is the centerfold in the latest Warbirds International:

That really is it this time - everything else is even more fuzzy and/or boring.

Take care, y'all
