Was sent this interesting photo link containing classics and some warbirds that visited or resided at this airport between the 40's and 70's.

Nice pics, but there is a mixture there of Marlboro and Logan. Logan has all those big warbirds and airliners. Marlboro is just a 3,000 foot strip.

Wow, good stuff

I see the Hellcat was at Trumbull, CT. There was also Stonington, CT in there too.
I love the MA Aero Stinson.

Trumbull CT? My Trumbull?! Sadly not likely as Trumbull has never had an airfield as far as I've known. Though I am quite curious at these pictures. You can see what looks like Trumbull on the roof of a hangar so Im quite intrigued into what's that all about. Again thanks for linking us to these pics. I did a job up in Marlboro at Ward Park last fall. Quite the interesting little town. Never got to go find the airport though.

Indeed thanx a million for posting those. Makes me want to run down to the field and just fill up an SD with images so folks 60 years in the future can go 'GEE....WHIZ".
I think the big square sedan is a mid 20's air cooled FRANKLIN

The runway in Marlboro is tiny...

Runway Information
Runway 14/32
Dimensions: 1659 x 45 ft. / 506 x 14 m
Surface: asphalt, in fair condition

My favorite story is that they figured out that if you put the fence on the inside of the poles it stops the airplanes from making it across the street.

There is an event there next weekend....
http://www.faasafety.gov/SPANS/event_de ... ?eid=33873

Open House at the Marlboro Airport 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, hosted by Don's Flying Service and EAA Chapter 673. Featuring the FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) Booth and FAA Safety Team program Managers Stephen Grota and Jim Adams. Learn about the benefits of the New WINGs Program and the Aviation Maintenance Technicians (AMT) Awards Program and how they increase the level of safety and reduce the risk in aviation operations.
