The Shuttleworth collection surpassed themselves once again with a superb show.
There was lots going on with a Lecture by about the new Bloodhound SSC Landspeed record attempt

The TVR Owners Club were there all weekend and Old Warden echoed to the sound of V8 engines.
Image

And a book signing and Q&A session by Battle of Britain veterans who were then driven in the Classic Car Parade.

Its amazing the lengths the Display organiser will go to to get in on the act!

On with the flying, I’ll let the aircraft do the talking suffice to say that it was the best Spitfire display I have seen for a long while and I have never seen the Bleriot get so high!

Wait, you said "V8 engines".. plural???.. Do you mean they actually got 2 TVR's running at the same time, in the same county???? God only knows what kind of Planet alignment that feat must have required... ;)

ZRX I would guess there were at least 50 there, most of which got there under their own steam (the racers were towed in)

A final few from me.

Jesus H. cherry-picking Christ, you do have a talent, don't you! Seriously Nick, those are easily among the finest shots I've ever had the privilege of seeing... the Spitfire with the moon and the clouds is just sublime. And I have to give a standing ovation to whomever decided to paint that Me 108 as a 6./JG 51 aircraft circa early August 1940... they really went whole hog on it, with the proper colors and scheme, and I have to say it looks pretty darned good. :) Usually I hate seeing 108s made up as 109s, but this one gets extra points for the amount of effort that's clearly gone into it.

Nick, you are THE MAN. Will any of these be available for desktop use at any point?

Thanks again for another great set of pics. I'm kind of ignorant (no comment from the peanut gallery) about all the bi-planes out there. What is the bi-plane with the red, yellow and blue streamers attached to it?

Thanks Nick. Its a great looking plane they have. BTW, loved the photo of the Spit framed on the moon in the backdrop.

Beautiful, beautiful shots. Takes me back 18 years to The Great British Picnic held at Old Warden on a flying day in 1992. Hundreds of classic cars all lined up along the grass runway, we were center stage in our GT6 with The Triumph Sports Six Club, sitting on an old blanket, leaning back against the 6 watching the flying display. That day still ranks right up there in my memory as one of my favourite days out.

Thanks for sharing.
