Not possible without drooling on yourself to elicit proper pronunciation! Worked with a great Welshman for years, Hywell Absalom. One of the best and funniest race mechanics you will ever meet.

So it is the 'Mac' Loop.., not the 'Mach' loop?

Although looks like these aircraft are going 'Mach'!!

Well, all the Americans I know who, like the English, still can't figure out how to pronounce anything in Welsh, say (phonetically) "Mock loop".

To be honest, when I first arrived at RAF Lakenheath, that area was being called "The Roundabout" by the pilots. It wasn't until a photographer/journalist friend of mine named Steve Davies showed me some of the websites did I realize that the spotters and photographers called the place "Mach Loop", as well as the names of the three best spots to shoot photos: Bwlch, Cad Pass, and Corris Corner.

I think I was successful while I was there in getting the pilots to call it "Mach Loop" and not "Roundabout".
