Hi All,

I was wondering it's been a rather long time since Mr. Weeks has had a new plane come out of restoration(the last one I can think of is the TBM) does anyone know what the status of some of the aircraft he has out at various shops.

Also is it true that he has stop purchasing new aircraft for the museum I can recall at one time it seem like Mr. Weeks was buying all sort of stuff and now nothing. Also what is the status of the Museum when does he plan on adding the new buildings.

Thanks in advance

Looks like plenty going on, just maybe not so much big-iron oriented as in the past.

They were still working on the TBM when I was there in Jan.

I remember hearing Art Teeters was working on either a P-51A or A-36 for Kermit a few years back. Anyone know if that's still being worked or whether work has stalled?

To add to what August posted, If you read Kermit's blogs you'll see that he has a number of projects farmed out to shops in other countries that are making progress. I am especially fond of the Tempest restoration and his plans for it.

Then I’m off to Australia for some business meetings, but not before I stop in and look at my Kingfisher and P-39 projects in Wangaretta, north of Melbourne. I continue on to London to check on the final stages of my Hawker Tempest V project, which we are bringing up to displayable condition. Everything has been rebuilt to airworthy standards but we are currently just trying to get it displayable for Fantasy of Flight. I have two Napier Sabre engines for it and one day hope to make it fly!

We are currently finishing our Stinson L-1 and Curtiss Jenny projects. The L-1 hopefully being finished at the beginning of next year.On the weekend of Nov. 26-28 we are celebrating the 15th anniversary of Fantasy Of Flight and over the course of the three days plan to fly fifteen differrent aircraft. The B-25 is being brought back to flying status and should be flying for the anniversary. We have a number of outside projects going on as well including our second Ford Tri Motor,A-26 Invader,Boeing 100's,P-39,Kingfisher,Corsair center section, as well e couple of WW I fighter aircraft. Alot of these are long term projects that still have along way to go till completion. On the subject of buying new projects we have slowed down over the past few years on new purchases, building capital to construct new hangars and storage buildings. Kermit has purchased a number of race planes from the 1930's for the collection that our characters in his childrens books. We are constantly trying to improve the collection and facility but of course alot of this depends on finances which in the days of the ongoing depressed economy is sometimes difficult.

So the comment from 12XU2A3X3 regarding the B-26 being worked on is not accurate then?

That is correct,no work is being undertaken at this time on the B-26 Marauder.

Thanks cooper, appreciate the info!

To 12XU2A3X3: is it possible that your source was referring to Weeks' Douglas B-26?
