WOW!! what a peek into the not so far gone past when things were tougher (as were the people) but everyone made do.
The 'Rosie' in picture #66 is swinging an electric drill motor that probably weighed 5 or 6 pounds, the power cord is as big around as most peoples index finger, and was blazing hot from the windings, all for about 74 cents an hour, 10 or 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, no eye protection, no hearing protection. Think of her and and all the other 'Rosies' the next time your 14 oz air motor is 'killing you'.

I'm driving right past where #26 was taken tomorrow on my way to McCall, I'll take a picture from the same spot and post it. Not much has changed. I also know the exact spot #27 was taken, some of my Father in Law's land is in that photo... Pretty strange.

what a peak at vintage americana!! it's mind boggling that such primitive conditions existed back then. people had real values & work ethic then to.

There's a link at the bottom of that page with more pics, starting with Pearl Harbor:

phil65,
I've used an air hammer to remove exhaust systems from cars and trucks, but use a rivet gun when working on aircraft-
