Looks like he has the correct engine in it too - not the usual CB16 conversion. Very nice!
The Seafire looks sweet also! :D

Both the Corsair and Seafire are GORGEOUS!

The Seafire is so nice to see completed and flying. I remember my early days with CWH when they owned it and it sat in the hangar in Hamilton. It was sad to see it sold back then, but glad to see it is done up right now!
I am looking forward to the old CWH Corsair being finished up at John's shop. It was pretty stock military inside, so should be a good contender for an award when it's done if this one doesn't win!

That bomb rack on the Corsair is AWESOME!
Looks like one of the field mods that Lindbergh was involved with!
Anybody have to low down on it?

I thought this was Frank Arrufat's Corsair... has it been sold?

Cheers,
Richard

PS. Yes, that is indeed a Brewster bomb rack. It even has a cut out in the cooling flap at that back, as it is supposed to. And it also has the early version of the rudder mounted radio antenna mast as well... I can think of only two or three current corsairs with this feature!

Mint pointed out that it was sold by Arrufat in one of his e-mails...
So THAT part is answered....now where will she be residing? West or East or in the middle somewhere?

Absolutely stunning Corsair!

But I'm curious..what's with the dark sea blue on the undersides of the outer wings? Normally they were painted intermediate blue, like the sides of the fuselage and tail. I'm not saying it's wrong, just that I've never seen it before.

Its registration seems to indicate that it will likely be living in Delaware - John O'Connor having been the owner of the P-51D formerly painted as "American Beauty" - now with Chuck Greenhill.

Thank you all for the added photos - what a fascinating restoration!

Not mentioned in the thread at all, but what is the BuNo and is it a Goodyear or Vought aircraft?
