U.S WWII Aerial Bomb Details

Tue Jul 27, 2010 12:36 pm

Hi all! Just had a quick question to ask of you guys, figured one of ya would know. I'm currently building a replica display bomb to collect donations in at our museum. I have found good pictures to reference and I'm just about done with it, but I am curious about how the bombs were safety wired during the war. I have seen/heard of pins being removed by the bombardiers before the drop to arm them. Just wondering if anyone had pics of how they were set up/ safetied. Thanks!

Wowzers!!! Thanks a ton Deadline 8) This will help me out a lot. I have the exact same paints you do, so I look to be in good shape there. Mine is not a dead-on replice really, just a mock up that looks pretty close just to serve the purpose as a donation container. Thanks again, this is just what I needed!
