That may not be as bad as it looks on first glance. It appears as though there are some work platforms off the starboard wing and a ladder leading up to the uncowled port engine engine. Maybe it's getting some TLC before going out to fly? I love the lines on the Lodestar - it's truly a beautiful airplane.

She had a gear up landing half a dozen years ago or more. Was ferried to Nut Tree Airport where they worked on it for a few years, and then flew it to Yolo where she sits now. Work has progressed very slowly on it. The ex-Chino Howard tri-gear was also at Yolo last year, and Nut Tree currently has another Tri-gear Howard, along with Duncan Miller's PV-2 that I understand is up for sale.

Guess I should add the pictures so I don't make this too confusing, took these all on the same day, when we flew between the two airports.

Do you know if the former Chino tri-gear fly these days? It looks a lot better than when I first saw it some 20 years ago...

Anyone know what the interior of that PV-2 looks like? Any mission equipment? Thanks.

Sorry, don't recall the interior on this PV-2, but after Thunder/MI I'll try to check it out. As I recall there isn't much to the inside. It was an ex-firetanker, and it's sister ship is still sitting nearby at Schellville. Neither have moved/flown in a long time. The ex-Chino bird was flying for a while last year, haven't seen it around this year. It's wasn't on the ramp during my last several visits there recently, but may be in one of the big hangars at Yolo.

PJ, After talking with the co-owner Earl, he told me that the Harpoon is basic stock granual-bait-spreader...so it looks like all the other stripped out PV's....and probably smells like molassas too....I was going to check out the interior, but the hornets nesting there told me other-wize...
I heard the interior of the Yolo L-18 has been removed and some of the parts were going to other aircraft???
