I am assuming this is the same airframe that was in front of the court house years ago? Where is it located now?

That second shot really shows off the lines of the F-84. 8) Very sleek.

I think it's back out at Hullman Field now, next to the Air Guard base. I'll shoot an e-mail to my wife's ex..he helped with its recent refurbishment. The markings look a bit odd..the plane is silver with the 50s style nose markings, but it's got the modern style tail code and low-viz insignia.

I can't remember the streets off hand, but it is sitting on VFW property, north side of town.

The F-84F is almost on the corner of 25th Street and Ft. Harrison Street.

I tossed the corrosion control guys the pics I had of what our F-84F's looked like in several different schemes from 1958 onward, they kind of just went with what looked good to them  They did a better job ob the F-84F at the base but it too has a somewhat inaccurate scheme on it.

My father was one of the people who prepped it for display in 1959 and was part of it's dedication at the courthouse, from what I was told the jet wasn't one assigned to us,it was a cross-country jet from another ANG unit that was found unflyable during post-flight inspection.

I'll try and get a few pics up in a bit of the jet pre-repaint.

Courthouse dedication of the above F-84F,my father is on the left hand corner in first pic.He also made the plaque for the display,he re-cast I believe 3-4 more due them always being stolen,he gave up replacing them in the early 70's.

Hi Dave..didn't realize you were registered here! So, there are two F-84Fs in TH? I didn't realize that. Are the aircraft out at the base accessible to the public? I'd like to snap some pics next time we're down that way. I took some of the rather sad F-86D at the Brazil courthouse last year..that poor girl could really use some TLC.

It's not showing the jet on the Google maps yet.

Steve,it's a F-86F in Brazil,it was originally assigned to Wright-Pat before making it's way to Brazil,it was a victim of a belly landing from what I was told, they got it display ready and then trucked it to Brazil.

The F-84F on base might be hard to get to if you don't have a base sticker or military ID but the Legion one is right off the road, you can get to it from the Legion parking lot or off of North 25th.I think I have a pic of the one on base somewhere,I'll try and find it and post it.

D'oh! I stand corrected. I just went back and looked at my pics..for some reason I remembered it as having the big dog-nose.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled F-84F thread, already in progress.
