I work for World Airways, in the office, and it is rare I get to see one of our MD-11 in action, thank you for posting the pic of N273WA and be safe over there.

I saw WIXer "AKFlier" taking off from KFTW in a very nice Cessna 140 on its first flight after having its annual completed.

Got buzzed by a C-130 yesterday afternoon and probably the same one came over the town again this afternoon. It was in shadow as it passed over the back yard so I couldn’t make out any markings. I live in an area that is apparently under the track of a C-130 unit that does night qualifications, and two or three times a year, we get buzzed at about 1000AGL by flights of 3-5 of them. The house sits in an ancient glacial valley with a state highway running through it, which I guess is an easy navigational aid (the old “concrete compass”). The odd part is I’m unaware of any C-130 units in the region. Beats me where they’re coming from.
I’ve also seen Herc tankers in the past orbiting overhead, once refueling a SOAR unit going by. I took this photo from my front doorstep:

Aluminum Overcast just flew past my window at work. She will be at Purdue University's airport for the next couple of days. Don't get to see too many warbirds so I get very excited when she visits! :D
