Looks like "Sentimental Journey" will be doing a Midwest tour this year with stops in the follow states:
New Mexico
Illinois
Tennessee
Missouri
Iowa
Wisconsin
Indiana
Ohio
Michigan
West Virginia
Kansas
Oklahoma
Texas

For exact locations and dates see here: http://www.azcaf.org/pages/touring.html

I noticed to get a preview of future stops click on a city on the main list then scroll through the list next to the map!

Battle Creek! Awesome! Too bad I can't find the date anywhere.

Well, it looks like their schedule is Thur-Mon and Mon-Thur visits and with the plane being in Rockford July 29-Aug 2 I would guess the plane would be there August 2-5 then moving to Thunder. I think the list with no dates is in sequential order too.

It would be nice if they could come on down to Birmingham,Al. I bet you would have an excellent turn out for it.

I was guessing either the week before or after TOM. I hope it isn't the week before because Texas Raiders will be in Kalamazoo. If I'm pressed for time I don't want to have to pick which CAF B-17 I support more :?

Sentimental Journey is sitting on my home base ramp as we speak. I got to see her fire up and depart/rtb on a media hop. Man, she sure is pretty. What polish!

Hopefully I can get out there and take the static tour. I feel a long lunch at the airport coming on.

My wife's daughter lives in Terre Haute, and said SJ was flying over all day today. She posted some snapshots on Facebook.

Looks like SJ is in Battle Creek (where I live) the week before Thunder, the same time TR is in Kalamazoo. And of course, the only week we'll be out of town the entire summer! Collings did the same thin to us two years ago. I think there's some conspiracy among warbird operators to make sure the only time they come to the Battle Creek/Kalamazoo area is when we're not here!

"SJ" at Battle Creek and "TR" at Kalamazoo the week before TOM gives excellent opportunities to do ground tours before the show weekend :D

I'm trying to remain calm while my house sale goes through ~ because then we'll be taking ground tours and ....... RIDES

Well drat. I didn't get to tour SJ, let alone go for a hop. Regrettably working a county away kinda gets in the way sometimes. And my buddy "arranged" to buy an entire flight this AM for our local pilot crowd. At least those who were willing to cough up the dough to go.

Just a heads up... If you want to fly in the regular sorties for the general public, don't expect to "move about the cabin" to different positions during flight. Also, kids under 13 are not going up. Dunno if AO has those regulations now or not.

It's a different world. "Back in the day", my buddies rode for free on dead legs in AO, and even got some stick time. SJ doesn't take passengers on reposition flights, either.

Around noon today, she's off to her next location.

Doc, if you want to do all of the things SJ won't allow, check out Collings Foundation 909!

YES, good tip! Actually, we wanted to get on Colling's schedule and have them bring their planes to TH this year. Alas, we couldn't get on CF's schedule this year. Maybe next.

I'll get/make an opportunity sooner or later....

I'm guessing they mean Aug. 9-12 since TOM is Aug. 6-8.

Even better because I'll be at the TOM, then when I am facing those post airshow blues, I will have a B-17 at work.

I'm an Elkhart native. I saw her at Thunder and at least once every day while she was here. The crew was awesome.
