OK...Mrs. Mudge says she wouldn't mind going to Oshkosh next year. Would those of you who have been, be kind enough to tell me everything you know about it.
PM might be best as that wouldn't clutter up the forum with stuff that you "vets" already know.
Then again, posting on here might be the thing to put some others "over the top" in making a decision to go for the first time.
I leave it up to you.

It's just that I like to have all the information I can get so I can make definitive plans and leave little to chance.
Yes, we can "adapt and overcome" if necessary, but would rather have clockwork organization. It's just my style of doing things and hasn't failed me yet. :D

Mudge the schemer
(Does that sound right?)

ps. my idea of "camping" is a hotel/motel without a TV remote.

Hi Mudge,

It's difficult to sum up all the different advice to give a newcomer to AirVenture. However, these links and threads from EAA's Oshkosh365 forum may be of some interest:

http://airventure.org/planning/survival_guide.html

http://airventure.org/about/newbies.html

http://www.oshkosh365.org/ok365_Discuss ... picid=3801

http://www.oshkosh365.org/ok365_Discuss ... picid=4178

And definitely stop in here http://www.airventure.org/index.html for up-to-date info year round. If you have any specific questions, I'd be glad to answer them. Just shoot me a pm.

Zack

Zachary...Thanks for the links. reviewed all of 'em. We're looking at renting a house for the week. Some of them are reasonably priced and near the site.

As a rough guesstimate, looks like about $3K for the trip.

Mudge the planner

Best advice, Mudge, is play hard to convince. Then you'll get everyone trying to show you how good Oshkosh can be.

It's good to be King. 8)

Be at Zac's WIX barbe (cookout) at the minimum.

Cheers!

Mudge scared the heck outta me with this thread. I thought I'd REALLY overslept (not an impossibility the way I feel)..and missed what will be my 33rd straight Oshkosh. A little more than 1/2 of a year of my life I've spent at Wittman Field! LOVE IT!

Rich that is awesome!

Mudge, glad to see you are going to give it a shot. It is one that you will not regret. be sure to hit the Sea plane base as well. It is a nice relaxing area worth taking the time to check out.
