The ex-CAF Twin Mustang is in the Korean War Era and is painted all black. "Betty Joe" is now in the Cold War Gallery.

Thanks for the update Chris. I see where the F-84E has also been finished and is back on display. Projects have flying out of the restoration shop of late! Whats next to be brought in or are they concentrating on the ongoing projects?

I think we would all like to see what the F-82 looks like now. Will the museum post any photos?

I stopped in for a visit on Friday. They had the area roped off, but I could see the mustang tucked in behind the the C-124. I took a picture of it, but the angle isn't very good and it's alittle fuzzy. I'll post it when I get back home on Tuesday.

The less said about the F-82 the better, but that F-84 repaint is nothing short of freakin' FABULOUS! I wonder which aircraft will be next for this sort of treatment?

Why is that man. I like the night fighter colors on the F-82? The CAF battle is one that is over and done, you can't hold that against either organization forever, and eventually have to get back to enjoying the aircraft. And yes, the F-84 is just beautiful!

Did they repaint the CAF plane or just remove the tramp stamp?
Tue Jun 01, 2010 2:34 pm
I haven't seen it in person yet since it was placed on display, but as I understand it, the plane was getting a full paint job. They may have placed it on display but not put unit markings on it yet, and may do that over in the gallery. But as I understand it they repainted the whole aircraft, as there was repair work and corrosion control done on the airplane.
