Big Spring AAF / Webb afb info

Tue May 25, 2010 6:01 am

I am trying to get as much info as I can from ground crew vets from Big Spring AAF which then was renamed Webb afb. There's is a forgotten story that needs to be brought to light.

Visited the place while stationed in Abilene. Are you speaking of the story of Lt. Webb, or the history of the base in general, or a particular event?

Thanks,

Gary

Gary,
I am looking for the ground crewmen who repaired the aircraft so I can tell their story. It's long overdue.

Scott,

Thanks for clearing that up. Do not know if you have been to the museum, but when I visited about 6-7 years ago it was staffed by a former T-38 Crew Chief and I believe and EW or EE man who among other things worked BUFFs, perhaps they could help.

Best of luck,

Gary

Thanks Gary! I know the fellow working there I met last year at the CAF show in Midland. We are trying to get all the former mechanics to come out as seems they were really left by the wayside. Thanks again boss!!
