Just setup vacation for Friday and Monday of that weekend. :D

Looks like my plans are coming together.

For the group shot we should do one Saturday and Sunday, Friday for those around that day. That was everyone has a chance to jump in.

I agree regarding the group photo for each day. I would also suggest we arrange a meeting location for the Friday evening. Perhaps outside the gate, or at a local restaurant? Thoughts anyone?

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

also any suggestions on hotels?

Fly-in aircraft parking will be on the west side of the airport only, at Av Flight West, where a van will shuttle people to the addmission gate.

I am available Saturday only as well, but will be arriving late Friday afternoon. (8 hour drive from Ottawa) But if I can convince Catherine to make a 4 day weekend out of it, I may be available on Sunday as well. Our tickets are good for Sunday too.

Looking forward to meeting you as well Tom.

Since the main reason for Catherine letting me drive her 8 hours to an airshow is so she can go to the symposium, then we will be going to the symposium. She likes the symposium, and I must say it has not dissappointed yet. You won't get any closer to history than hearing those gentelmen speak.

I still don't have a cell phone myself, but if someone in the gang that is gathering after the show does I would like to get their number so I can call and hook up with everyone afterwards. I hate to miss a party, especially with such an awesome gang like those on WIX.

Well since no-one has voted against it, I guess it is 11 AM at the announcer stand on Saturday. See you there. Might as well suggest the same time for Sunday as well.

What time will flying start? I'd say either before or after, but not during. I have pictures to take

Maybe Ryan can send over a B-25 for us to sit under again

I agree 100%. But usually the activity nothting is going on as they move from all static to active.

What we should do, for those not going for the early photo tour, is agree to meet in line at 8 AM. That should almost guarantee that we get in line early enough to be in a group. We could then shoot the s__t for an hour until the gates open. Good idea?

I'll also be there, arriving Friday after noon. I'll be at the "Liberty Belle" Sat and Sun mornings, volunteering as part of the ground crew.

See you Sat at 11:00 (if that meeting time & place holds).

p.s. I'll try to get a more recent picture up, the beard is gone for the summer.

The flying starts at 11:30 with the first battle of the day (Me-109 and four Thunderbolts) the ramp will still be open.

The show flying starts at 12:30, ramp shuts down at 1:30, flying stops at 4:30, gates close 5:00.
