Former WASP and cofounder of the Kalamazoo Air Zoo Sue Parish has passed away at the age of 87. No details yet. Ms. Parish became well known flying her signature pink P-40 at airshows around the country in the 70s and 80s.

Sue and the pink P-40 were some of my favorite Oshkosh memories. :(

I never did see Ms. Parish and her P-40 at airshows, I didn't start attending any until after she retired. She is a legend though. This is a sad day.

I remember Tullahoma '79, all the guys were making low passes during the Warbird part of the show, Sue was pulling up and doing aileron rolls. Grandma outflying the guys!

Great photo Al! I don't care if it was pink, her P-40 looked a darn sight better than many other schemes I've seen from back in the day...

Let me echo these sentiments. Godspeed and God bless. Thanks for what you did for aviation Sue! Condolences to the Parish family and the Air Zoo. I miss seeing that P-40. It certainly didn't hurt getting the fairer sex interested in warbirds at the shows it flew at.

A true legend passes. I remember how she always made time to talk to me when I was a little kid back at Oshkosh in the late 70's. I always enjoyed seeing the pink P-40, as it really stood out from all other warbirds at Oshkosh. Condolences to her family and friends.

That is so sad to hear. I chatted with Sue on many occasions at different shows and she always had time to say hello to everyone.
Wonderful lady..Blue Skies Sue!

I was privelaged to see Ms. Parish fly her P-40 many times, and had the honor of meeting her in person a few times as well. She was a true lady, and a real trailblazer for women in aviation.
