Hey thats me.
Just got back from looking at the airplane, located at camp Shelby in Ms, in my mind it will never fly again; however; it will make a great static display. If anyone is interested please give me a call and I will put you intouch with the guy who is working on it.
I will post some pics tonight.

MapQuest aerial view shows two DC-3s at the end of a closed runway at the Hattiesburg, MS airport east of Camp Shelby - is it one of those?

This is the genius (dare I say mechanical god) who CC'd 42-93096 when she was N58NA---"096" was D-Day Pathfinder plane Chalk 17 now preserved forever on the ceiling at the National WW2 Museum in New Orleans!

I never got to work on her as I was only 13 when she was here in VT but I did help mask off markings with my dad when we painted her. So yea I know the airplane!! Thanks for finding her history...............too bad that she is painted the way she is now..........think we were alot closer. Not to mention, they changed the props.
