Rank insignia

OK...As most of you know, I do reenacting. I have a question about wearing of rank insignia.

If I'm wearing an Ike and a garrison cap/c_ _ _ cap/pi$$ cutter, since I'm wearing rank insignia on the jacket, do I also wear rank insignia on my cap?
