Yep, Dave Klaus dissolved the company and sold off all the remaining inventory two or three years ago (allegedly) rather than let his now-ex-wife get any of it in a messy divorce. He left a rather bizzarre and rambling goodbye video on the Meteor website, in which he warned against letting anyone "steal your joy," which has now become a catchphrase on the modeling forums. I never dealt with Meteor's mail-order operations, but Mr. Klaus had a reputation for rather quirky business practices, and many modelers claim to have been "blacklisted" by him if they enquired about the status of a delayed order or complained about service.

I understand he still owns all the masters and rights to Meteor products and has shown no interest in selling them..so unless he personally decides to resume production, you're only option is to find them at ever-increasing prices from Ebay or other secondary market sources.
