Memphis Belle resto thread?

Thu Feb 18, 2010 8:55 am

Like so many others here, I absolutely love the restoration threads and watching guys like Rich work on Mr Beasley's aircraft. Fascinating stuff and greatly appreciated!

So, was thinking that a thread with pix and info of the work being done on the Belle would be another reason to spend way too much time here  Chris or any of the other people we have here who spend a lot of time at the NMUSAF know any of the people working on the Belle that ya could bribe into being our insider? I guess a further question would be does the museum allow that sort of thing?

Many thanks to all of you who do so much work to get and keep the old girls flying

If people are interested, I will post that info. I usually do anyway when I am thre to get some pics, or get an update. I have taken pictures from about every month since the Belle was moved. Once done, I am going to put a little movie together about the restoration.

Chris...the pix and info you provide are appreciated, but it seems you are a pretty busy fella with a lot of irons in the fire, so was hoping that someone directly working on the restoration could be bribed into joining us here on WIX and give us the detailed pix and info like the Texas Raiders postings, FiFi's work, all of the amazing stuff that Rich (51fixer) does...etc.

I don't turn wrenches on these fabulous old airplanes, but have a weird fascination watching and reading about the work being done. Seems as though I am not alone with my fascination either

Hope this makes a little more sense as to what I was hoping for...an insider who could be bribed into providing lots and lots of pix...

(oh...and Brandon...the other Belle will be used for templates on the museum Belle  )

No worries. I don't work on the Belle on a day to day basis. It would be nice to get someone to do what Gary did on the B-24 thread.

*bump*

...hmmmmm...seeing the pix of the twin Mustang work made me wonder if there is any work being done on "The Real Belle"

Make no mistake the Belle is the main focus of the museum with the Swoose a close second.
