Two more:

Charles Bowman...Who?? Co pilot of The Body, the B-17 in John Hersey's The War Lover. His sanity in a basically insane situation gives him my vote over Morrow, the pilot.

Has anyone else read The Last Tally Ho (besides, I'm sure, Hellcat. Mark, you still out there?)?
The main character (Dick Mariner?) was a hero to me when I was young, and Winston was another.

Gotta go with Truman in Fandango. Me and my skydiving buddies just howled at that part since it sort of hit close to home with us. Second would be Tim Matheson's charecter in 1941.

How about Brad Randolph (Kung Fu Carradaine) from "Cloud Dancer"? And little cameo,s from Jimmy Leeward, Poberezny and others. I love that movie, the filming makes up for the acting.
Best? Jimmy Stewart in any aviation movie he made.

Know who it is? LOL :?

What was the airplane that he flew in Slipstream? Really cool looking!

Mark Hamill. The plane was an Edgley Optica, a neat aircraft but starcrossed for the
attempted maufacturer. Only a handful were built and survive after a factory fire, IIRC.
