for the effort and imagination. Looks like almost as many a/c models as my "fleet".
The music was well chosen, though. Guess they couldn't find "Battle of Britain".

Mudge the entertained

Breathtaking cinematography! (that's what happens when you snort coffee out your nose, it takes your breath away)
Cutting Edge Special Effects! (Yes, I was looking for something to sever the power connection to the computer with to make it stop!)
International appeal! ( German Shephard Dog, and everyone loves dogs, and the camera was probably Japanese!)

My 11 yr old thought it was hilarious!!

Trust me on this, big budget movies used to make test films very much like this to get an idea for how to get certain shots across.

Had a grin on my face all the way through that. Good to see kids enjoying their kits.

Have to admit I was disappointed not to see the Stirling corkscrewing though...

I was really impressed with the historical authenticity, until I saw the contrails in the sky. Honestly, couldn't they have removed those in post-production?

Seriously, though...my friends and I staged similar dogfights with our models when we were kids. Of course camcorders hadn't been invented yet (and judging by this film, that may have been a good thing!)

Yes, Lucas used cuts from 633sqn and The Dambusters in Star Wars because the special effects weren't ready in time for studio rushes, basically because Industrial Lights and Magic had to invent the technology. The final battle was modeled on both films, with flying along the trench alluding to navigating along the canals, and of course the final pull up at the end is straight from 633. Some of the dialouge was lifted to, such as the "stay on target," and the "How many guns do you see."
Got me rambling about Star Wars now!!! Another of my favorite subjects! Weren't the new ones rubbish though, and don't even get me started on the last Indiana Jones movie!!!!

This shows just how closely Lucas followed the "source material." The "Dambusters" mashup is particularly good. 8)
