The box I have the slides in says May 1970, the slides are stamped May 1971. The only plane I know the status of is of course Diamond Lil. I seem to remember the P38 Scatterbrain Kid crashed in Louisiana many years ago.

I believe the original Scatterbrain Kid crashed in 1974. Of course the white P-38 now belongs to Red Bull. The yellow, white, and black P-63F is undergoing an IRAN in the CAF Central Texas Wing's hangar.

Most sadly the original Scatter Brain Kid did crash at the Lafayette LA airport. The airplane was named after the P-38 that Revis Sermon flew during WWII. It was owned by Revis, & Paul Fournet. I do not remember who was flying the airplane when the accident happened, but it was not Revis or Paul.

I'll show my ignorance by asking-What is an IRAN restoration?

The B-17 is Texas Raiders. The white B-24 is Diamond Lil.
The red and white P-51 is flying as Old Crow in Europe?
The Buchon is still flying (N109W)
The Wildcat was destroyed in a fatal accident at Ellington in 2003
The Corsair is flying and based in Lancaster, TX
The White P-63 is under rebuild in Georgia?
N3953B Stearman is still registered in NY

The Stearman, N3953B, was owned by Don Cole during that time frame and was based at the old Genoa Airport. It was unusual in that it had a metalized fuselage and spring steel gear. I remember it well as I took my first four flying lessons in it in the summer of 1966.

P-51D N167F was then owned by Paul Finefrock of Hobart, OK. Now operated by Scandinavian Historic Flight in Norway. The A-26 is the CAF's N6101C which later had a fire while taxying in Texas. The carcass was stored on a ranch, and might still be. The pilot who went in with P-38LL was a guy named George Harper.

Two different years? Diamond Lil in one pic and in civilian guise the next?

Yup, N6101C, and it was very likely removed from the USCAR in the mid, late 80s.

Unfortunately it is just a derelict fuselage these days as far as I know. Check post #7 and 9!
