Ummm...with Eric's SPAD being such a chick magnet, he would seem to be a no-brainer to invite  Does he still come in here? Man...can you imagine if you had him, T-33 driver and Vlado there with Moonbeam? Now THAT would be a don't miss show

The Yellow Rose B-25 would be interested. Having it the weekend before Oshkosh could help you get more planes, and possibly at reduced prices for those who were going to Oshkosh anyway. Another factor in appearance fees is what you will allow the plane to do to raise funds. For example, our PX items sales help us underwrite the maintenance on the Rose, as do aircraft tours and ride sales. The ride sales are a major source of maintenance funds. If an event will help us out by adding ride information to their advertising, and possibly handling some prebooking for us, it can really help cut down our appearance fee.

Rides, tours, and PX sales are all welcome and encouraged. That goes for anyone that shows up. We would love to get Vlado and Eric's Spad. Does anyone know if them or if they would be interested. I am going to try and PM them on here.

We are looking at the weekend before Oshkosh. We want as many warbirds as possible, but if we miss some T-6's because of the meeting, we can handle that. There are three of them based on the airport that will show up. They said that the ticket price would be $10.00 and 5 for kids. So far if it would go with what we have on the thread and based on the field we would have;

3 T-6
2 Stearman
1 Husky
2 Ercoupe
1 Champ
3 J-3
1 C-54
1 C-47
1 TBM possibly more
1 F4U
2 P-51
1P2V
1 B-25
2 T-33
2-T-28

This does not count what the military will bring over, which we are working on with them now as well. I don't think $10 is too bad for that is it all works out. Do you?

Ok we now have the beginning of a budget, and the dates. The airshow will be The weekend before Oshkosh. Friday July 23rd will be arrival day with a cookout in the evening. Sat. July 24th will be airshow day. Military displays will be scheduled as our paperwork is on the way to D.C and the FSDO. Museums and warbird owners that bring their aircraft in will be able to give rides, and sell from their PX. There will be a fireworks display in the evening launched from off field so there is no concerns. Sunday will be departure day, and photo day as aircraft depart. I have just been placed in charge of the aircraft side of the whole show minutes ago. My airport manager is taking care of fundraising, and we have a decent start so far. So let's try and get this going. This will be Northern Indiana's only airshow as faar as I know.

Yup, we are having a meeting in the morning with the FSDO. I will know more about funding after the meeting, but I have been told that it is in place to put together a nice show. All paper work has been deliverd to the US military, and we are requesting from the fly overs by

KC-135
B-52
B-2
C-5

statics by
F-15
F-16
F-18
Osprey
C-130
C-17
AH-1
AH-64

Demonstration by the
F-15
F-16
C-130

Plus with the before mentioned warbirds we could end up having a great show. We have plenty of room. I will keep you guys up to speed when I hear more after the meeting.

Don't be shy, what would you guys and gals like to see at a show?

My family will be in the area with our airworthy 1909 Bleriot XI replica (the first type of aircraft to fly across the English Channel) if you are interested in hiring that “100 years of aviation history” thing. We wear period clothing and can do a static and or flight demo. We are reasonably priced, and you fall in between the American Barnstormers Tour that ends in Minneapolis on July 17th, and that little Wisconsin event the next weekend. It's getting hard to find something “new” at an airshow. When was the last time you saw an airplane with wing warping fly?

Looks like an ambitious military lineup. It would be cool if even a couple of those were able to make it. A KC-135 fly-by from Grissom and maybe an ACC Demo would be a great addition. Is Elkhart's runway long enough for an F-15 or F-16?

If that warbird lineup that was already listed holds, it looks great to me as it is. Eric's SPAD would be great to see again, and Vlado's P-51 demos used to be the highlight of the old Elkhart shows for me. It looks like you have a good mix of fighters, bombers and transports right now. If the Bleriot were able to make it that would be really sweet to see too.

The only suggestions I have for the lineup would be to get one of the Warbird Heritage Foundation aircraft, maybe the A-4, T-2 or F-86 since it looks like you already have a Skyraider, and maybe Mike Keenum's Sea Fury "Riff Raff." Someone (can't remember who) flew an aerobatic demo in the Sea Fury last time I was at Elkhart and it seemed really popular with the crowd. If you're into adding trainer aerobatics the Valiant Echoes BT-13 would be something different to consider.

Are you guys planning on putting up a website at any point? Keep up the good work and keep us posted, I'm really looking forward to this one.

There will be a website very soon. I want to make sure all of our funding is in place before I start advertising. The warbird list I have is a very real list. These are people that I have talked to that said they would come, and I am in agreement with prices. I must say that everyone was very reasonable. There are actually a few aircraft that could be possible, but that announcement will come later if it happens.
I would love to get a jet demo, but not sure if we will get it or not. Our paperwork is in, just not sure if we will make the cut. We will have F-16's and F-15's here though static. We have a 6,500' concrete runway, a 4,000'paved runway, and a 2,250 grass strip.

Is the crowd line going to be facing South like the old shows?
