A great picture. Congratulations

I saw the picture and showed my wife. She told me that we could have the photographer out at the airport for a Warbird Christmas card this year.

My wife (who did all the fabric covering) and my two sons (11 and 12) built a full scale Bleriot XI last summer in 29 days. We spent two of those days taking a break at two different flying events (so I could sell books), but what's really cool was the third day off. We took off the 24th of June to celebrate our twentieth anniversary. She had no complaints that I had had no time in our 16 hour work days to get her a gift (or even a card) and we spent the big day taking the kids to the World War I museum in Kansas City. The next day we were all back to work for another 16 hours. She even put in 12 hours on the fourth of July finishing up the cover job. I wish I could sell copies to other airplane guys. She may very well fly the airplane across the English Channel in 2011 to reenact the 1911 flight of Harriet Quimby (if we can find a backer). She is a private pilot with a seaplane rating, and even loves to fly our airplane when it’s on skis. She recently soloed Don Carters original Siemens powered Bucker Jungmeister. Life is so cool when you are both on the same team.

I'm in good company then. My wife likes aircraft too (maybe not quite as madly as me ha ha). We got married in 2005 at what used to be RNZAF Base Wigram. The Base Chapel and the No. 1 Officers Mess still exist so we were married in the Chapel and had the reception in the Mess. Photos? Well Wigram is home to the Air Force Museum so our wedding album has photos of us posing in front of some of the collection. Oh and the date? 6th of June of course! The other bonus? Her birthday is 15th of September.................Battle of Britain Day! I can't go wrong and forget either date! :D
