Can someone please confirm the current base of Gnat XP514/N7HY, in Red Arrows colours?
Judging by the owner I would guess Chino with his T-28 N171BA, but it was at Palm Beach Florida from 2007-2008 at least.
Thanks,
Andy Marden

That Gnat belongs to Tony Ostermaier. He flies that plane w/ Skip Holm frequently. Tony was a member of the Mustang Pilot's Club back in the 60's and 70's along w/ my father Bob Guilford. Tony flew a P-51 over to Germany from SoCal around 1978.

That T-28 is the infamous Bob Hoover T-28 special !!!

I got to fly w/ Tony in that Gnat. That was one of my wildest and most memorable flights, second only to riding w/ Dale Clark in his old Sea Fury Nuthin' Special. My father was never really a hot-dogger...but those guys were !!!

I rode with Dale in his Sea Fury a couple of times as well. He had to put some hours in it before he would be qualified to fly it at Reno. Even back then, as a college student, paying for the gas was a large chunk of my "textbook money."

Dale was a good guy. I'm sure your textbook money was well spent on another type of learnin'.....
