Yes. It's an affiliate program. If folks click through to Amazon through the link and end up buying something, WIX gets a percentage. Some of us also have it on our websites - like I do at http://www.lbirds.com. Usually doesn't amount to much, but on a site like WIX it could be fairly significant. One other thing - it doesn't add anything to your purchase price - just gives a cut to the advertiser!

It isn't nearly as intrusive as some of the other affiliate ads either. It's one of the few internet ads that I will actually click through and use from time to time.

I just love warbirds, WIX, and Amazon. If I knew what warbird DVD's were good I'd order a few using that ad. Anyone have suggestions on good stuff to get, please let 'em rip. :)

I keep the URL bookmarked and do all my Amazon shopping through it... it really does add up to quite a lot for WIX... usually around 10-15% (sometimes more) of the purchase goes back to the site. The nice part is, the more we get sales through that link, the more of a percentage we get as the sales increase.

Again, the link is: http://www.amazon.com/?&camp=212361&lin ... ive=391873

Do a search for "Roaring Glory Warbirds" in the Movies and TV section... that was a well done series I always thought. Considering it was one of the last warbird features created by Jeff Ethell, its even more special.

Thanks Ryan, another Q if I may, something I've always wondered about: Are the "used" DVD's you see on Amazon safe? Seems like they're a lot cheaper, sometimes dirt cheap. I've certainly had fine luck buying used books that way.

I bought something used from Amazon before and it came two days later and in good shape! WOW!

I bought some used books and other items and never had a problem. Perhaps better then evilbay?

It does help out, usually the funds go towards expanding the WIX library. My last purchase was a 1941 aircraft recognition manual, you'll find out soon what I plan on doing with that

Each seller gets feedback like eBay does. So if that person has a good rating, you should be ok. I sell books and VHS tapes through there. I know, as a seller, we have to abide by somewhat strict rules for listing and shipping.

Bill,
Once you click on the link to goto Amazon, anything you purchase during that session will give WIX Credit. You don't have to do anything. There is a code imbedded in the link that identifies where you came from. Thanks!

Hello I read the responses here to the Post a few years back regarding "How exactly does Amazon.com help Wix?" Scott replied that Wix gets a part of a commission from Amazon. Since I am thinking of using Wix for an affiliate program using Amazon I want to know if Scott meant that Wix gets the actual percentage or the commission goes to the web site owner using Wix or maybe they split the commission between Wix and the website owner? Any and all help with my question is greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure I'm following you correctly but maybe this will clarify things a bit. When a user clicks on an amazon ad, or uses an amazon search box, they are taken to amazon.com. From that point on, from the users perspective it is just the same as going to amazon directly. The only difference is that by using the links and search bar imbedded in WIX or anywhere else in the site (you all know about warbirdsresourcegroup.org, warbirdregistry.org and militaryscifi.com right?) your telling amazon that we directed you to them. In exchange they pay a percentage of whatever you buy to the site. It doesn't add any additional cost to you. Ryan is right, it typically doesn't amount to much, but every little bit helps and it helps expand the WIX library which in turn helps expand the site.

So if you want to help the site, at no additional cost to yourself, please use the links for all your amazon shopping needs. Thanks!
