The NMUSAF is one of the few museums that actually do it. Most show little if anything on their web sites. Some don't even show the actual plane on display, just a stock, file photo of a representative example. I realize it takes time and money to put together a web site, but it would be nice for people who can't visit the museums...

I think it is great. The NASM has a few kiosks at the museum that lets you look at the interiors as well. The NMNA had one too I think. You are right though, alot of museums don't do it, and some doon't even have pics of their actual aircraft.

I'll second that.

As well as the Serial Number and origin in where/how they acquired their airframes

So just a fast count, and I may be off,

Out of 25 complete B-29's 14 are on indoor display.

Out of 4 complete surviving B-50's 1 is on indoor display.

Someone had asked what the serial numbers were for the forward and aft sections of "Jack's Hack", the composite B-29 airframe being restored at the New England Air Museum.

I was up there today with my grandsons so I got the info here.
The front section from the rear pressure bulkhead forward is 44-61975.
The aft section is from 44-61739.
Since it contains most of the aircraft, the basic identity referred to is tied to the front end. The display text with the aircraft does mention the different rear fuselage and gives the correct serial numbers for both aircraft.

I am devastated. I am 20 minutes away from Jack's Hack for a business meeting, and have no time before or after to get to the museum. I had no idea that this was the location of the museum. It was quite the shock in the hotel lobby!
