Nope. That one we adopted from the Rice boys.

We were hoping that when Ed Russell's Hurricane (known as 'Little Willie') was parked in the hangar following Wings & Wheels with Bessy we would get little bastardized Spitfires, but no dice!

Here's something I thought was interesting.

304 circa 1956-59. The UM code is for the Primary Flying Training School at Centralia, Ontario.

Baggage compartment contents...WOW!

That rod attached to the crank actually goes in the engine. You are missing the Very Pistol which attaches to the angled clip and the one with the clasp.

If anyone has Very Pistol cartridges either live or fired to sell please PM me.

The Harvard IV Rich (51fixer) refers to is alive and well here in Georgetown, TX. I have owned it for a little over two years. Prior to that it was at LSFM where it was mostly static. We fly it regularly, and are so happy with the job (and historic accuracy) that Pacific Fighters did, we elected to have them tweak our recent acquistion, P-51D-25NT N251BP. It will be emerging within a few weeks as 83rd FS, 78FG (Duxford) "Buzzin Cuzzin." Cuzzin will have its own hangar, and its own website. Simon and crew are finishing the Pilatus P2 right now (it shares the hangar with the Harvard), and as soon as the US C of A is issued, it will also be airborne over Georgetown. We will post pictures of all soon.

As an interesting aside, John Muszala, Jr. (Little John) was in diapers when Harvard N1811B emerged from their Chino shop. This summer he accompanied us back to Texas from Idaho Falls and flew N1811B. It was a very cool, very emotional event for us all.

Shane - Looks like CHAA is expanding at an ever quickening pace. The sky will be turning yellow with a couple more of your restorations. Carl's work on building up the trailer sure has paid off. Thanks for all the positive comments guys. Hopefully in the next little while the planes in the hangar will be re-arranged so '304 can be put on the 'warm side' to begin restoration.

Yep, we figured that they just removed the starter rod and put it there when the engine was removed for Crown Assets disposal.

And yes, we do have the baggage compartment floor.

Just a quick update.

20304 is still sitting on the north side of the hangar awaiting space in the restoration area, and will hopefully be moved very soon so work can commence.

Just before Christmas I was asked to be a 'technical advisor' for an article being written in the Tillsonburg paper about 20304's donation.
It came out last Wednesday, and was also re-printed in my local paper (since they are owned by the same company), where I first saw it.

BTW if anyone is wondering what the 'other' time capsule Harvard 4 I'm referring to in the article is, it's 20387 at the Canada Aviation Museum.
Hopefully I can get a chance to study the markings/stencils on her at some point...
