Loy Brydon

I should have posted this last month.

Loy Brydon retired Army Special Ops died last month. He died of natural causes. Loy was one of my best friends who built a Whitman Tailwind in my hanger. Loy was the inventor and patent holder of the TU canopy and was one of the 13 oringinal Army Golden Knights His USPA license number was D12. Loy was a very devoted family man that will be missed very much. Loy did not have an abundant amount of money but he was very wealthy in the friends department. I did not realize it until I went to his service and could not believe how many lives he touched. Loy did a tour of duty in Korea and three in Vietnam. He retired from an injury he sustained in an L-19 crash in Nam. Loy was instrumental in the development of the piggyback parachute container that we skydivers all enjoy today. The world has truly lost a pioneer and a patriot.

I have been eating lunch with him once a week for years and still find myself going to the phone to call him.
