Now that was fun to watch - except when that ditz walks on the wing in high heels, and proceeds to do the same on top of that car - hey lady, even if it's the new GM "turret top", it's gonna look like it went through a hailstorm when you're done with it!

Don't know which made me cringe more....the heels on the wing of the Waco or the heels on the roof of the car!

That is such a cool movie. The white Taperwing is a 1929 JYM NC731K flown by Roger Don Rae. Currently being restored in Lexington, KY by George Gumbert. The one with "I" struts with the dark fuselage and light wings is a 1930 CTO NC666N flown by Art Davis. It is owned now by John Dowd of Syracuse, KS. The last airplane is the one and only 1929 JWM NC8558 and was probably flown by Bob O'Dell. It is now owned by John Cournoyer in St. Louis, MO and based at Creve Couer.

Very cool posting Baldeagle! And thanks for the IDs wacoykc! I sent this email down to the shop so John Cournoyer can watch it. Sure is fun to see photos and images of these planes back when they were still working for a living. I found some photos the other day that show the JWM as John Cournoyer and John Halterman found it. I assume they are from the late 70s or early 80s but I'm not sure.

I haven't had the guts to swing the prop on our CTO's R760. Nice to see it done.

There was a Skywriter at work over Oshkosh this year. Some things in airplanes haven't changed much, I see!

Of course our Waco CRG was one of the most famous skywriters of them all, owned by Andy Stinis from about 1935-1950. It was the ORIGINAL Pepsi-Cola skywriter. We still have the smoke system installed (center section fuel tank is the smoke oil tank) and my brother always writes
"W A C O" at the National Waco Club Reunion.
