mexico city b25s in the park,whatever happened to them?

saw pics a while back about some b25s sitting in some tore up mexican city parks, were they recovered,whats the plan for them?

From what I recall, the one in Chapultepec Park got recycled. I've been there and it wasn't there..........

Are you sure it was that one? Chapultepec had its B-25 nicely displayed on a pylon along with a C-47 (at least per the Google Earth images), while there was another in a different children's playground, which was gutted out so the niños y niñas could play in it, that is supposed to have been scrapped several years ago.

The only two B-25s I know of still existing in Mexico are the two in San Juan de Argo Park. One has lost its tail, the other’s has fallen to the ground. Both were still there in Apr07.
There is also rumoured to be a cockpit held with the Mexican Air Force at their base at Mexico City International.

Didn't Dave from "Executive Sweet" have some sort of plan to rescue these birds... or at least try? Perhaps he knows more... paging Dave G.!

I posted this ? a year ago on hear and was told to hold on something was going to happen with them and I haven't heard a thing since....

Ok, I'll check with my Aztec buddies in Mexico City again and see what I can find out. (May take a while - a lot of them are getting ready for the Our Lady of Guadalupe festival on the 12th.)

I did find a photo of the Chapultepec bird, on a Mexican forum, but it had some porrn site start popping up so I better not link it here. It showed the plane in NMF on the pylon. No date on the photo but the one my late friend shot in '88 showed it nicely painted white with a couple parallel stripes on the fuselage - like a '60s civilian scheme.
