A place where restoration project-type threads can go to avoid falling off the main page in the WIX hangar. Feel free to start threads on Restoration projects and/or warbird maintenance here. Named in memoriam for Gary Austin, a good friend of the site and known as RetroAviation here. He will be sorely missed.

Tomorrow's the day. Plan's are to do a test hop over the airport then come back and land. We'll look the airplane over and if everything is still good we'll launch in the afternoon for home. I will be in the back seat of the Buckeye as we fly chase and will hope to post some photos if all goes well.

First test hop in the pattern with several touch and goes then land. We'll look the airplane over for any leaks etc then fuel and head direct from OSH to UGN as a 2 ship with the T2 in lead. Hoping for a good day.

Well WIX'ers, I'm happy to report our Scooter has flown and is at home in our hangar. What an awesome day and an awesome looking airplane in the air. I want to thank the following people for all the help and support: Paul, Herwig, Sean, Bruce, David, Andy, Tom, Vince, countless others that stopped to offer their support and helping hands, and to Sid for bringing her home.
Pictures to follow after I get them downloaded.

Great JOB!!!
The low pass down 23 was great!!!
I thought the A-4 might sound louder but I guess
the throttle was pulled back.
The landing looked cool, lots of tire smoke (Carrier landing?)...
Congrats again, that was a tough "Nutt" to crack, good job.
Out Here, Tom

Thanks guys, These are the days that really make us feel we have really accomplished something incredible. I posted a new thread in the Main Hangar with some pictures now that we are airworthy again.
Sid S came up from texas and flew her for us. Some minor fine tuning to the trims otherwise all went well.
Glad you were out there Tom to see her come home. Thanks for your help on the Scoot.
Thanks again fellow WIX members,
David
