Thx, Rich.

And yes........you could put a 3 blade aircraft's prop on a 4 blade application. Such as Samuri's 4 T-28 blades or Sparky's 4 Albatross blades.
(My vote: Mossie blades. Certainly not normal paddle blades, the chord is too wide.)

Another shot of that prop:

To make things a little clearer, (4) Mosquito blades were installed into a 24D50 Mustang prop hub. Yes, I realize that a Mosquito came with a (3) bladed prop assembly. A Mosquito is also a "D" shank blade and will fit into a Mustang hub. This is not a guess but the straight answer from Tiger His-self last PM.

So noted.....and into the data banks that information goes.
Thanks.

Are you referring to Pardue's experiment?
Dunno if Howard had anything to do with it, but this was a re-shaped blade that Tiger Destefani ran on Strega. People have incorrectly called it a 'scimitar' blade, but from what I recall it was a standard blade that just had a re-shaped leading edge.
There was nothing 'reshaped' about the Tiger Claw. It was a brand new design and build and a ton of money went into it. I want to say US Propeller Service had something to do with it. Kerch has told me he felt it just wasn't tested enough.

Tiger claw=Orca prop. 24 "E" 50. Kerch "made" the backing plate and some other misc parts for it. White, wide blades with red (?) tip's if I recall. The modified tips that are on the cuff prop which is on the airplane now were done at the completion of the race in '97. Tige was not very happy about that modifcation. There was also an experimental Ham Std. prop that was run on Jeanie & Dago in the early days. Polished blades & no cuffs, interesting prop.
