Any idea if Jerry Yegan is interested in this type? Or anybody else for that matter?

Darn, I thought that Hansen was going to completely restore it to mil spec before anything was done to it? I'm sad to see that he has it for sale. What a gorgeous aircraft!

Anyone know the reason for selling it? It seems like kind of a fast sale for something that was just restored.

Hi everyone,
It is truely a sad time at this point, to have to sell the aircraft. But, situations being what they are I can't choose between Cancer treatments for my wife and the mortgage....they both need to be paid. I would love to continue taking "AW" out to revisit with the veterans which made it possible.....but I have no other partners or sponsers, and it may be .......Well, I want to THANK all of you wix'rs out there for your support and enthusiasum regarding all things Warbird...your a great group of people!!

Sorry to hear. Yup, a no brainer, have to take care of family first, much as it hurts to loose AW. Thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time. Hopefully, a buyer will come forth and take good care of her.

Chris

Wow, sorry to hear that! You definitely have your priorities straight. I hope your wife quickly recovers and AW finds a nice, loving home. Thanks for everything you have done to restore a very rare, and under-rated warbird! :D

Second that Warbird1!

Dave,
Its truly a sad and difficult time when life's unfortunate situations come a'knocking. :( But I do wish your wife a steady and healthy recovery. Selling an awesome bomber like the one you so tirelessly restored deserves adoration and praise! And you never know what may happen in the future. Life may swing some luck your way again. :) Hang in there buddy.

Dave, Concur with the guys here on your priorities, just shows you are a husband first, and in a marriage, that besides being a Dad, is The most important thing.
No one will ping you on your decision to part with your second wife.
I watched your plane slowly go down hill while she, and the field full of PV's parked at Wheelless Airport (now a subdivision) were ther over the years, and had wondered what one would look like up close and personal restored to Mil Configuration.
Sorry I won't get to see her before she leaves your parking ramp.
Thank you for taking the time and spending the bucks to take her back to the past. Ya Done good man, done good.
Now, start writing a book about your restoration of this example of a Warbird.
You do what you gotta do...I always have a line available on the prayer list.

Guys / Gals,
See what I mean about the support....Thanks to all..Your awsome! :D "AW" is not sold yet, and I still have things on my list of things to do..so I'll keep on going as time permits. Who knows...maybe I'll win the lottery? Suppose they want me to buy a ticket first?

Cancer situations are NOT fun and are stupid expensive... Been there with an uncle. Makes you wonder about some of the "alternative" treatments. They ran my uncle's bills up WAAAY more than he ever made, and it still didn't really do him any good.
Hope your wife makes a full recovery.

Ryan

Wow, I didn't know it was that serious - I wish you two the best. In that kind of situation, my mind would be completely off of warbirds, altogether. Just enjoy your time together. Remember, there is more to life than airplanes.

Take care, my friend. :)
