Impressed with the acro performance, but Russian modern aircraft don't really impress me that much militarily. Sure they may beat US aircraft in airshow routines, but they'd be dead long before engaging one of Lockheeds new monsters. Look on youtube, it seems all Russian aircraft performances at shows end in an ejection seat demo. My 2 Cents. Cool looking bird though, dont get me wrong.

That sir, is a poor observation.
Its all about the flying hours the pilots get, which are wery low..

The MKI's, MKM, MKA etc etc are quite good in a pure intercept role(BVR) too.
The latest BAR radars are on the same level as the western PESA radars, if not better.
And there arent that many western full blood AESA out there thats operational.
I'm not sure but i think its just a few squads of F-15 with the AN/APG-63(V)3 AESA radar.

Speaking of the F-22.
Do all the F-22A have the latest APG-77v1 yet?

Thanks

This Flanker variant do have what LM would qualify as "supercruise"..
Later upgrades of Su-30 platforms will also get the SC performance.

Somewhere along the EuroFighter capabilities.
No stealth & no ultra prize tag eighter, thats why Sukhoi keep getting contracts for those Su-30.
In short, a lot of bang for the bucks.

Thanks

Didn't say anything about survivorability, just as an airshow performance it looks pretty darn impressive.

You can't put a price tag on being sure that you will win a fight. Bang for your buck i great if your opponant is willing to spend less than you.

120 mile AMRAAM. Riiiiight.

FWIW, I've 'supercruised' in the F-15E, too. It's not a capability that is unique to the Raptor.

I believe that lightweight F-111's could supercruise as well.

ok maybe not 120 but certainly BVR. Regardless, f-15/f-22/f-35 whatever the US has always seems to be way above what eastern block countries have. Didnt know the mudhen could do that....but now I do! Thanks for the correction

Well, the latest Australian F/A-18SH and S-Korea F-15K, did cost more than any of the Su-30 variants.
Same thing with Rafale & EuroFighter.
So you have to spend substancial more bucks to best those Su-30.
Which was my point in the first place.

The US Senate have prohibited any advance export ToT like the latest AESA radars, ewe, etc etc.
The Indian MMRCA tender are the only exception i think.
Afaik Sukhoi don't have such restrictions..yet.

Thanks
