Wow. I certainly wish the YB-52 was still with us.

That B-29-55-MO is a special machine--notice the "Andy Gump" engine cowling and nacelle modifications, and the trusses for carrying the X-7/XQ-5 missile.

Great photos!

You're right. . . those ARE neat photos!

That six-place BT-13 conversion is actually kinda attractive to look at. Still with us somewhere?

I think the BT-13 is still with us. And I think is at the Lebanon Warren coutny airport in Ohio in a hanger. I iseem to remember talking to the Examiner at the airport bout it while I was taking my CFI checkride, Unfortunately I had a few other things on mind to ask to see it. After a six hour oral and a three hour flight in 2 different aircraft I just wanted to get home. That was back in 1999.

A friend of my uncle has one dismantled in a barn in Kentucky - it's called a Viceroy.
Update: Not a Viceroy but like the one above.

Greetings...where was the pic of the P-63 taken? It looks like the old location of the USAF Museum when it was situated on WPAFB. I do remember the gravel parking lot where the planes where parked outdoors...

The prop boss markings behind look like the nose of P-82 'Betty Jo' of the USAF Museum. Just a guess.

I'm pretty sure you're both correct--notice that the apron surface is identical to the YB-52 photo.

Ok, so does anyone know the current status of that B-29? I am always interested in making a pilgrimage to see another. At one point it was at an aerospace museum in Louisville, but I cannot find any links to it online. :? I was looking for APG85's survivor list, but the search engine in the new forum says B-29 is never listed... Maybe I will try again later or perhaps my search defaults were wrong. If anybody has any more pictures please post them. Also was this the prototype for the B-50 or something the Air Force or a tech school cobbled together?

Eric - can you give us any dates for when the B-29, YB-52, B-52, etc. photos were taken?

The timeframe that I can guess is late 60's or early 70's. The location for some is the air force museum. I know alot of them are from around the Cincinnati area.

The Bt-13 kinda reminds me of a Spartan Executive.
